About
The urban design of the comuneros avenue, proposed by the architect Edgar Burbano Perez was an audacious connectivity approach for its period, with the passage of time plus the accelerated urban growth this proposal was becoming obsolete and uncapable of resolving the accesibility problem to the upper west side neighborhoods, despite of this, The District quirky way to solve the urban issues for the immediate future have chosen the "easiest and cheapest" way to solve the problem, Urban planning knocked down, both sides of the avenue, 2-3 rows of lots leaving a trace of unresolved facades and remaining-useless spaces focusing social issues.
Understanding the urban movility was the key to approach the problem, as a group we reached the conclusion that the pendular movements from the city boundaries to the downtown are the "daily bread" of the inhabitants, also Bogota's downtown mixes the most relevant floor uses, living, work places and urban equipments.
Our proposal consist of tie down the western hills complex with the Carrera 10 using the Transmilenio's station Bicentenario as a focal point of multiple ways of moving around the city, along the comuneros avenue a public space and mixed uses building proposal constitutes this connection axxis accompanied with a tram system, also we proposed 3 focused points of appartments (10000 units) Work-commercial spacies (7500 units) and urban equipments (10000 m² of development)
